Volunteers are an integral part of the Calgary Aphasia Centre. Our volunteers act as facilitators in communication groups for adults living with aphasia, a language disorder very common after stroke or brain injury.

Groups run once a week with morning and afternoon groups. Training will be provided to volunteers. This position is well-suited to undergraduate students who are interested in a health science career such as speech-language pathology, social work, disability studies, and psychology. It is also suitable for retired persons who would like to help stroke survivors practice communication skills.
